Startup team collaborating in a modern office

Operating partner for startups

Three months in, and nobody can tell you if it's going to work.

A dev shop bills you for hours and hands you a repo. We put our name on whether the thing actually works. We build products from zero, we audit builds that are already in flight, and we take over the ones that stalled. If we think your idea needs a smaller build than you're planning, we'll say that before you spend the money.

What we usually find

Nobody tells a founder the truth for free.

Everyone in the room has a reason to keep the build going. These are the situations founders bring us most, usually a few months later than they should have.

01

You can't tell if the build is on track

You're not technical, the updates all sound fine, and the date keeps moving. Nobody on your cap table can tell you whether the work is good or whether you're being managed.

02

The agency built exactly what you asked for

Which is the problem. Nobody pushed back on the spec, so you paid full price for the parts that were wrong, and you found out after launch.

03

Scope grew but the product didn't

Six months of invoices, a longer feature list, and still nothing a customer can actually use end to end.

04

The build stalled and you inherited it

A contractor left, a technical co-founder walked, or the offshore team went quiet. Now there's a codebase nobody understands and no one accountable for it.

05

You're about to build far more than you need

The plan is a full platform when the thing you actually need to learn could be answered by a fraction of it. Nobody selling you the build has a reason to mention that.

Built for what you do

Tell us your trade. We'll show you the problem we'd fix first.

Your engineers shouldn't be your customer success team.

  • Onboarding, billing edge cases, and support tickets pull engineering time away from the roadmap.
  • Usage and account data is scattered across Stripe, your database, and support tools.
  • Investor and board metrics get assembled by hand from multiple dashboards.
Where we'd start: a self-serve onboarding flow plus automated usage and billing reporting.

The most expensive build is the one that shouldn't have been built.

FAQ

What owners usually ask.

I'm not technical. How do I know you're any good?

Start with an audit instead of a build. You get a written, plain-language read on where things actually stand — and it's yours to keep whether or not you hire us for the work.

We already have a dev shop. Can you just review their work?

Yes, that's one of the most common things we do. We'll tell you honestly whether the code, the pace, and the spend are reasonable. Sometimes the answer is that your team is fine and you're worrying about the wrong thing.

Our build stalled and the developer is gone. Is it salvageable?

Usually some of it is. We go through what exists, tell you what's worth keeping and what should be rewritten, and give you a real number before you commit to anything.

Will you tell us not to build something?

Regularly. If half of what you're planning doesn't need to exist yet, saying so early is worth more to you than the invoice is to us.

Do we own the code?

Yes, entirely. We document it and hand it over so your team — or the engineer you hire next — can pick it up without us.

Whether you're starting from zero, halfway through a build, or holding a codebase nobody understands — tell us where things stand and we'll tell you the truth about it.
